Media Asset Management in Design Huddle

Written by Carlee Benito | Apr 9, 2025 10:49:23 PM

Simplifying media asset retrieval is key to creating a user-friendly editing experience, maintaining brand consistency, and reducing back-and-forth in collaborative design environments. Design Huddle’s media asset management provides the flexibility to host, manage, and share media assets through tailored libraries while leveraging custom integrations to meet your unique requirements.

Three key pillars of Design Huddle’s media asset management

1. Assets

Centralized assets help users find the right media for their projects, expediting the design and video editing process. Assets in Design Huddle include multimedia content conveniently stored within libraries and quickly accessed directly from the editing interface. You can categorize assets as brand-specific or shared, each with individual permission settings for admins and users.

Assets to host, manage, and share in Design Huddle

👉 Videos - Import any video file, including transparent videos, which will be automatically downsized for optimal browser performance while exported at full quality.

👉 Photos - Host any .jpg, .png, .heic, .gif, or .tiff file and maintain full resolution while showing the user a smaller preview.

👉 Fonts - Supports .ttf, .otf, and .woff files. Fonts can be brand-, user-, template-specific, or globally available.

👉 Colors - Save colors in RGB, CMYK, and SPOT formats. Apply them through a brand palette or use them individually in templates.

👉 Vectors - Host SVGs and maintain perfect quality at any size.

👉 Audio - Import and set audio files as background music tracks or scene-specific tracks.

2. Hosted libraries

Libraries allow you to organize and store assets according to your preferences and provide a seamless experience for the end user by making it quick and easy to find the most relevant media for their project. Customers can create unlimited asset libraries to host and manage graphics, videos, and more, curated for users, groups, or a particular template.

Design Huddle’s libraries offer greater control by enabling locking on any library within your Templates. Although users may have default access to a library (either through brand association or a shared library), restrictions can be applied at the template level.

Our media libraries also fuel creative automation by programmatically populating templates with brand-specific content, helping to kickstart their content creation process.

Design Huddle offers two types of hosted libraries:

👉 Shared Library

Shared Libraries host general media assets like images, vectors, audio, and video files. These libraries are available to all users, regardless of brand association, fostering greater cross-collaboration and efficiency.

Shared Libraries allow you to create content libraries that match your organizational preferences. For instance, you might store your seasonal campaign assets across different media types in one library or separate libraries for images, audio, and more.

👉 Brand Library

Brand Libraries enable you to store and manage brand assets, including photos, colors, fonts, and logos, regularly used within designs for a more effortless editing experience.

Brand Libraries are available for customers using Design Huddle’s brand management features, and access to these assets can be managed with permissions on a per-user basis. For example, to reduce the volume of design requests from franchisees and maintain brand consistency, a brand may proactively grant franchisees access to pre-approved media assets.

You can add unlimited libraries to store any combination of asset types (e.g., fonts, videos, audio, photos, and logos).

3. Media Integrations

Our flexible platform supports custom integrations and allows users to source media from any external library directly within the Editor, providing access to the exact assets needed.

👉 Integrated Media Library

Plug in your own API or custom-built iframe to create integrations that pull in photos, videos, audio, and vector graphics. These integrations allow you to create a streamlined and personalized editing experience by seamlessly bringing custom media into Design Huddle’s interface. For instance, you can easily integrate with Google Maps, a QR code generator, your DAM platform, or BYOL (bring your own license) for additional stock libraries.
